JMO........the T514 should never been removed from the Ruger Product line..........I "suggested" that to WBR at an annual NRA meeting when I tended bar in his Ruger Hospitality Suite....he rejected my suggestion rudely, I thought, adding "we make enough other damn 22's".......

Guess Bill wasn't concerned about being "politically correct"!

Back then and outselling the T514 10 to 1, the T678 seemed to be the most in demand. Thus Bill's decision to drop production of the T514 in 57' probably seemed a good business decision. Possibly, we seek out the few T514's, not because of their Superiority to the T678, but because of their Rarity!?!

For sure, Ruger certainly did make plenty of .22's!

I'm checking with Dennis W. ( SGW ) to see if his 2-piece bolt service can be applied to all 3 of mine (1-Blued Std, 1 Blued MkI, 1-SS MkII KMK6)!

FWIW, SGW responded that pinning the Mk series 2-piece bolts is possible, but the fix is visibly noticeable. After the fees and shipping cost, I'd have almost $40 invested in each bolt. Decided to go another route.

I ended procuring 3 non-tapered ear bolts from the bay, one new MkIV (for my MkII) and two used MkI (for the standard & MkI)...total vested about $140 (av. $47 each)! Now still have the untouched in-perfect-condition tapered ear bolts packed away for a rainy day!
