Looks really cool with that laminated stock! Sure hope that they pass the change in the law on suppressors so we do not have to pay that darn $200 tax.

Ron,
Nice! A bolt gun with a can is a lot of fun.
I have an American in 556 that I suppress and take to the prarie dog
fields in Montana. To much fun!
Question on your 300. Do load your own? I have been using commercial
bought subsonics for my 300 but I load my own for the supersonic shooting.
Curious if you would share what load works for you.

JAY

Jay,
I don't reload my own yet, I'm still building up a stock of brass. I did find that with sub or supersonic the POI at 100 yds unsuppressed is about an inch lower than when suppressed and I'm happy with knowing that. Shooting supersonic still gives the crack (of course) but the sound level of the muzzle blast at the ear is very low, but I'll probably just go with subsonic loads, those have plenty of power for anything I hunt, including white tails, here in PA.

Ron,
Thanks for the reply.
I did some research and build my own brass. I have a mini chop saw and cut 556/223 brass to the proper length (can't remember off the top of my little brain) and the 300 blk die necks it down to 30 cal & presto... 300 blk brass!! Way simple if I can do it. The specs are online, or if anyone wants I will post.
I don't have a 300 bolt gun yet.....but I have an upper for an AR and have not yet come up with a formula that cycles the action and stays
subsonic. I have only tried one bullet a 245gr by Missouri Bullets. From what I have read online the Sierra Match King 220gr is working for
a lot of guys. Maybe I will try it this spring. OR, just shoot super with the AR and get an American in 300!
Can't have to many Rugers........
Cheers,
JAY
