I don't know about the rest of you, but there ain't much that makes me grin more than making a bunch of smoke & noise!!!
Cut work at noon today and headed up on the hill to a gravel pit to shoot.
Between my NM convertible Blackhawk with the 9mm cylinder, SR9 pistol & new PC Carbine I put 250+ rounds into any old soda
can or half broken clay that I saw!!
Then I ran three 30 round mags through my SR556 on anything past 150 yards or so. Then one of my 10-22's used up 300 rounds
to clean up any clay fragments out to just over 100 yards.....AND I even pulled the old Security -Six out of the glove box and
ran 3-4 cylinders through it!!!
Dang. If every day could just be this good!!!
Cheers,
JAY

Re: Therapy
Jay the only thing that would make a day like that better is having a BBQ to eat after you clean up everything. You could have it during the shooting but the sauce makes a mess on the firearms finish. A friend of mine has a 300 yard range in an old gravel pit on his property so we shoot there sometimes. Then we eat a great meal to finish off the fun.
Some people sit on $.05 of knowledge like it is the treasure of Egypt. I will teach anyone $.10 worth just to prove a point...

Re: Therapy
Jay, you're going to have to tell me your secret. I'm so married to my shop that lately I've found it hard to quit working and make time for me. With warm weather approaching, I'll find a way. Sounds like a great afternoon!

Re: Therapy
Glad to see someone enjoying the day! If it ever gets above, and stays above, freezing I may be able to turn gunpowder into noise. It is just a wee bit cold to be enjoyable just yet. Perhaps next week?

Re: Therapy
Jay, always great to go shooting to erase any/all tensions. Now that I have the RPR I will probably modify my shop hours when the weather gets nice to learn/practice the long distance shooting genre. Really looking forward to it. Tyrone will need to build a 600yd range for the East Coast get together otherwise it will just be down there for show and tell.

Re: Therapy
I got home from Florida 2 weeks ago and I quit counting how many days we had snow and lots of strong winds. I sure am looking forward to warmer weather again so it will be more fun to shot again like I did all winter in Florida. Been busy sorting two 5 gallons of range brass and getting it all cleaned up and ready to reload. I started teaching my new neighbor how to reload and am looking forward to having a shooting partner next door.

Hey Buddy,
Glad you made it home safe!
Hopefully the weather gets better so you can get some shootin' in
with the new neighbor.
He's a lucky guy, I wish I was your neighbor, but then I'd have to
live in Ohio OK, I wish you were MY neighbor, although Deb
might not be real happy with us all the time...
Cheers,
JAY

Re: Therapy
Hey Jay, Come to the July show and then come back to our place and we can introduce you to my neighbor. We could see how much therapy we can stand. Maybe we could make enough noise to discourage a couple geese from wanting to visit our pond.

Aaaaaghhh........(big sigh)
Yep, I did it again, skipped work at noon and went plinking.
An ol' boy at the other end of the pit drove down to the end
I was at and started up the conversation.
When he saw my Ruger American 556 with the suppressor he
pulled out his American in 30-06 and told me what a tack driver it was.
He also had the new Savage in 6.5 Creedmore, several AR uppers
in different calibers, his son lived in Anchorage and he should get
home before his wife called.
Never did get his name, just enjoyed the time with another
shooter.
Came home with a big smile on my face!!
Cheers,
JAY
