Today I found my first D gun. It's a 1965 RST4 and I was really excited as the Standards are my favorite Rugers. This was the smallest gun show I've ever been to and I went in with no expectations. Ya never know what you're going to run across!

Congratulations on your find, looks like the previous caretakers took really good care of it.

Chuck that is a beauty! You come up with some great Rugers for sure. That one is about in the middle of the D block of RST4 pistols and just think that new it retailed for $41.50!!

Thanks, Guys. She'll go great with her other siblings and are a welcome addition for me. It was well taken care of although there are two tiny spots on the left-hand side barrel that I can't figure out what happened. It's not old rust spots or any pitting but rather appears that the blueing is just not uniform there. It's hard to tell from the initial photo but I can see them in it. The photo below shows the spots a little better. Other than that and missing the box and paperwork she's pristine. I sure would love to put the whole package together and then find the other one without the D!

That is a serial number normally reserved for Mark I pistols (minis the D) Some where there is a T512 or a T678 with that S/N minis the "D". That will give you something to look for.

Don
Did the RSSM Single-sixes go up that high in s/n range?

I not positive but I don't think they went that high.
