You get to meet many like minded people and share your knowledge with them and make contacts that many times help you find some really good items to add to your collection. I can remember at a show one day that someone walked up and asked if I would be interested in an extra clear 10/22 magazine for my collection to go with the one on display. It didn't take me long to help it join my collection. Once you help to educate people with the information in your display you just never know when that next contact will help you add something very nice to your collection. Through a friend I have made he knew what I like to collect and he put me in contact with someone he knew who had 2 RED and one White 10/22 magazines. Well needless to say it did not take long to add these to my collection. Then when I was building my laminated 10/22 collection you will never know when another collector will call or email you about something new they just saw or heard about. I was walking through a show one day when they guy called out and asked if I had a non checkered Canadian 10/22 in my collection for early guns. That addition just made my day because that is a hard one to find. Once people get to know you and what you collect it really helps find that next item to add to your collection.
I hope to see you at a show some day.

While at Tulsa lase Saturday Radical Rod in his Pink shirt brought over someone he said wanted to meet me. Frank said that he had read several articles I have written over the years about my collection and had always wanted to meet me due to his interest ies n laminated 10/22's also. We had a really nice visit and he shared a list of his collection. Wow he had continued his collection after I stopped mine collection back in 1999.His print out was very detailed as I reviewed it and I agreed to provide him additional information on my collection. I shared some additional information about my collection and added details about my collection. He was really interested in my one of a kind that the factory made up and gave to me back in 1997. I am sure we will stay in contact in the future based on our passion for the laminated 10/22's. We are also so blessed as our wives also share our love of collecting them. Frank said he acquired one of his Kittery models on his honeymoon and my wife bought me a RBZ I needed for my collection as a wedding present. How luck can two guys get?
ON Sunday a father son team stopped by and after we talked for a while I realized it was KD an old 10/22 collector friend I had met down in Dallas years ago. We exchanged information on our collections and will keep in contact, It just goes to show that you just never know who you will meet at a show when you display.
These are just some of the advantages of displaying your collections so I encourage everyone to get out and share your collection and knowledge. You just never know when that next piece will show up for your collection.
