How to highlight a serial number?

What type of material can/should I put on the serial numbers on my guns to make the serial numbers easier to read in the display? Note I have both blued and stainless actions that I would like the serial numbers to be easy to see. Is it better to use something like a crayon or nail polish. What is the best color to use on stainless? As I recall they used to make a gold pen to highlight with but I just looked at Brownells and did not find one. Thanks for any input.

Charlie, I would not use nail polish. Check at the lumber or hardware store for a "paintstick". If no luck check ebay. They come in different colors. I'd suggest white on blued guns & black on stainless.

I've always used a crayon, seemed to work the best for me. Coogs

Hey Charlie, I have a PINK GREASE PENCIL you can borrow :!: :!: :!:

I just use a "white china marker" you can get them at any office supply....

I have also used "WHITE OUT" before with some success...RR.

Thanks for the offer Radical for the pink marker but I already have the serial numbers highlighted in white and black marker. I wouldn't want people to think my guns were yours if I used a pink marker.
