THE CHECKERED FINGER GROOVE GUN IS RELATIVELY EARLY AND TOUGH TO FIND AFTER SOME FIFTY YEARS.......... 8-)

I think the checkered finger groove is too early. Workman thought the first ones started in the 60000's

You never know with Ruger. I had a International in the 15000 range that lettered as being shipped in 67. I thought that was a low number and then I seen a 4000 range gun that lettered as an International!! The parts bin theory. I got a couple of D guns and serial number 600 for sale.

I knew there was some variance, I had no idea they could be that far off.
I saw the 600, it's a beauty. I really almost called you on that one. Let me know if you ever want to give up a 2 digit.
I've grown quite fond of the 66. :)
