The 10/22's came boxed. As you can see the #29 has the type 2 box because it wasn't shipped till 1966.It also has an INC barrel. Which means it was probably assembled in 1966. What is interesting is the Redfield scope that came with the gun. It has engraved as you can see with the name Russ Sims. I know who Russ Sims was. He was the holder of the Ruger serial number 29 guns. What I find interesting is the Redfield scope on the #15 77 flatbolt was engraved the same way with Elmer Keith on it. How,where, and when were these scopes done. Its the very same engraving. Again click on the pictures.

Vaughn. You definitely scored the home run. It was very fortunate that you were able to keep all four guns together and with the boxes as well. You have some great stuff to make a four gun display for our Ohio ROCS displays in July!? Should I send a show packet to you? Watch your mailbox in about 10 days for the next issue of the ROCS Digest. The cover is very special and is a great tribute to your collection. Brass Frame/Lee E

Funny, we were just talking about serial numbers out of sequence. But this one takes the cake. Seems like someone would have snatched this one up earlier.
ps.OMG they are all BEAUTY'S...dammit!

Is the 29 the one with the more average wood?

Mark
The 29's have better wood. The 28's are average

I'm trying to get a handle on why this gun would have been put together in 66'
do you think Russ was on the list in 64"?
