The Ruger No.1 rifles, serial# 30 and 30D are a unique pair. This was Ruger VP Stan Terhune's number and he got both of them. At the time, #30 would have been called an S24L(a special length) with AH forearm and no sights. It is a .270 Win. #30D was made a bit later, as it is a true 1S in 45/70. Wood on both are as nice as will be found on any of the early Ruger No.1 rifles.

Lee, still thinking about these....probably the only Duplicate 2-digit in existence....what a set of rifles. Glad you own 'em.

No; 61 & 61D both exist. 61D was sold on Ruger Auction last year and I was second place bidder. Learned my lesson!
I have 61. 33 and 33D are another pair, but status of 33D is not known to me.

Lee, The wood on both guns really jumps out. I can only guess that this wood was special ordered for special people? Wood that dark and marbled usually comes from a "burl" on a walnut tree and today those type stock blanks fetch big $$$$.
My neighbor, a custom shotgun stock maker, orders these blanks for shotguns, from all over the world and cannot keep them in inventory. You have a pair to be proud of. Good luck finding more! Brass Frame/Lee

Anyone know where 1362D is and what configuration? I have it's non-D partner.
Those two above are the stuff that dreams are made of!
