M77 Question

I just picked up my first M77 with a tang safety in .243. To eject spent cases takes a fair amount of force and dents the case mouth, doesn't seem ideal for reloading. Is this normal with the old M77s?

I have not heard of this problem. I have a early M77 30-06 and never experienced this issue. Maybe some rifle guys will answer. Also, you might move your post to Auto and Bolt Rifles or Ruger General Questions.
