About three weeks ago I posted a link to a 3-digit Bearcat that went for over $2,300, and now here's a 2-digit Bearcat (84) that went for $2,420 including premium. Looks like low SN Bearcats are generating some serious interest.

Looks like if you want a 2-digit Cat you are willing to pay what it takes to get it. I have been there!! They only go up in value and the enjoyment they provide is priceless. JMHO of course.

I don't think a lot of subcribers in Ruger's low serial number program (begun August/September 1957) got the Bearcat. Might have been one of those hindsight things after they cleared out their inventory of two digit Single-Sixes, Lightweights and .357 and .44 Blackhawks that they never thought to also inquire if they wanted their number in the Bearcat that started shipping mid 1958. I know the writers got theirs pretty much, but did anybody else?

So why not a $2,500 two-digit Bearcat??? The old days are gone folks.

And now that I think about it... how many two digit Magnum Single-Sixes has anybody ever heard of??? Only the writers received theirs as far as I know (300009, 300013, 300015, 300022, 300023 etc.). So it would seem that subscriber numbers (after the writers guns) may not have been asked if they wanted their serial number on a new model until maybe the Super Blackhawk was introduced in 1959? Did later subcribers get their two-digit Super Blackhawk? Fred Davis, Jr. got his #51... Did anybody else???
Perhaps the "other" subscribers didn't start receiving other models until the .44 Carbine/10/22 ???
