2024 Idaho Show Pictures 2

Title: "first generation of…the long and short of it”
This display featured the first production series of bolt action rifles and center-fired pistols from Ruger. The rifles displayed represented the first year or so production with non-prefixed and initial prefixed serial numbers. This display also featured the early bolt designs of the flat-bolt and hollow bolt. In addition, this display featured the centerfire pistol series that marked the initial entries into that market. All models were represented with several overall variations, with rare examples such as two versions of the integral laser P94s and a P89M, which was built on the P93 frame for the Chicago Police Department.

“Winning Hands of Ruger Revolvers”, was made up of five distinct groups (hands) of stainless, new model revolvers. While some of these are tough to find, they are all shooters to me and see regular use as often as possible.

Displayed was the only Ruger factory made .357 magnum cutaway. The gun was made in 1957, shipped to a distributor and returned. Ruger then lend the gun out to the Fairfield Police department. The revolver was still in Ruger’s inventory when Walter Howe used it in 1984 to make a cutaway showing all the internal workings of the Blackhawk, including the transfer bar system.

Very cool! I really like the P series display. The P series does not get the respect it deserves, IMHO.
