I've been having some fun researching production dates, ship dates, destinations and making note of anything different about the RSS TYPE 1's. Defined as, guns without a hyphen between SINGLE and SIX on the frame, a flat , not recessed, breach and found in the serial # range of 1-20xx.

It started as a list of my collection based on my Ruger letters. I reached out to a few folks and they have added what they know & FT44 got John Dougans permission to add the 26 consecutive numbered guns listed in the book "Ruger Pistols & Revolvers"

Now it's your turn.

I think there is some cool information to be learned with a list like this. Look at the #59, produced June 1954, and shipped
in September 1957 to the same place as the #59 BKH3 was shipped the same month.
Check out the ship dates on the serial 50-59 guns listed. Was this the beginning of the subscription # program?

Like I said, fun stuff.

This is an anonymous list for collectors' information only. As you can see, there are no current caretakers listed.

I had to redo the list in a PFD format so I could copy & paste it here on the forum.
It did not convert well from the excel file & I had to "respace" everything.
Like noted above WAY BETTER in excel and I will email it to all who want.

No. 415 was produced in February, 1954, and shipped the same month to J.T. Lloyd Co., Little Rock, AR.
It was probably refinished at the factory. There is a thread here about it.

Thank you for the work you put into this listing. It is a great reference for us. I have #54 on this list. It is one of the clean up guns that went to Sutcliff in 1957. That gun was bought by Don Black. Don kept it NIB and inside the shipper until his estate was auctioned off 11/01/2013 (59 years after it was produced).

Hopefully the list will help all of us understand/learn a bit more about the T1's.
Like the fact that the 53 & 54 were shipped as consecutive, but Mr. Black only bought one gun.
I had always assumed the pairs in Dougan's RP&R book were purchased as a pair.

If you can think of anyone who might add to the list please send them the link.
It will be fun to see how many we can get listed.

Amazing results JAYDAWG! Thanks for compiling the list. The amount of Ruger information gathered by different forum members is outstanding.

If you click on each image it's better for the eyes, not sure how to make this better.

Numbers 11 & 12 were shipped to Mel Torme; wonder where those are. I had read that he was a Colt SAA collector but I didn't know he had a connection to Ruger. Was he acquainted with WBR?
