Looking to restore an OM Blackhawk in .41 mag. What parts are needed to restore back to “as shipped” from Ruger? Do you need more than the hammer and trigger? How difficult is it to install them?

Thanks

There are 7 parts needed to convert the safety kit parts back to the original. Hammer, basepin, Trigger, Trigger Spring, Cylinder Latch, Cylinder Latch Spring, and Pawl. If you are getting the replacement parts that came out of another gun, I suggest that you use the Pawl out of the Safety Conversion Parts since it has been timed to your gun.

They are easy to change out. Just use good hollow ground shrew drivers and take your time. Here is how I do it. First take the grips off, full cock the hammer, put a small pin or nail in the the bottom of the hammer strut and release the trigger. Take the grip frame off, take the hammer strut & spring out of the grip frame and take the trigger plunger and spring out of the grip frame. Swap out the trigger spring. Then the trigger screw & trigger, hammer screw & hammer and cylinder latch screw & latch and spring. Reassemble with the seven original parts in the reverse order - Such as first the cylinder latch & spring back in the cylinder frame, Then the hammer, etc.

I am sure you can Google and find a video of someone doing it. Do it a couple of time and it will become easy.

I believe FT44 meant to say "BasePin" and not ejector rod. Either way if you need a kit to convert back I have one. You can PM me if interested to discuss price/shipping...

Thanks All,
Okay got some parts coming. So the base pin, not ejector housing. Well I may have two sets now. One will have an ejector housing. I also will have some extra screws and such. Thats fine. Also studied up on the schematics.
I have been looking at how nice those brass frames look.

Chinook 3,
The Brass Frames are fine and if you want them on a gun that had them installed at the factory be ready to pay the BIG BUCKS! There are several brass frames available that you could purchase and install yourself and save the $$$.
