Hi. This is my first post here and as a Ruger collector I am so glad I found this site. I hope someone here can help me or direct me to where I can find more information.
I have a 44 mag Super Redhawk with a serial number of 00067. I purchased it from an estate auction and the story I was told was that it was given to an outdoors writer who had a large collection of Rugers with serial numbers ending in 67.
I would like to know more about this but don’t know where to start. Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Congrats on picking up an early SRH, I believe Jon Sundra had subscription number 67.

The Ruger early serial number Subscription Program started in the mid to late 50's where gun writers, friends and family of W.B.R. were given the opportunity to purchase guns with a low serial number. The recipients needed to continue buying the same serial number when other Ruger guns were made available with that serial number, or forfeit the first option to buy. That's the basics of it.
