I just bought a Ruger Blackhawk in 357 . It has a 10" barrel on it. The barrel do not have Ruger stamping. I would suppose that the barrel has been changed out. Gun serial number date is 1959. Can someone please inform me. Or do I really want to know.

I suggest that you contact Ruger Records, copy the single sheet of paper, fill out the details that you want and include a $10 check for a factory letter. Be sure to inquire the barrel length when the gun left the factory. Good luck!

I've already done it, just putting in the mail. I put on there about barrel length. Will that prove it.

If Ruger sends you a Factory Letter stating it left the factory as a BKH30 that means that it shipped with a 10" barrel. Then I would think it just got out of the factory not roll marked.

It is possible that Ruger forgot to put the rollmark on the barrel. Such instances are rare but they did happen. Haven't seen it on a 10" before.
Go to Rugerforum.com and go to the heading "Ruger and Other Firearm collecting". Then scroll down to "All Collector Information is Now Here". Then scroll down to "BKH30 10" .357's" There you will find a listing of the 10" serial numbers that have been reported by collectors. Most of the 10" guns are all in their own specific serial number blocks without other barrel lengths being in those blocks. If your gun is in one of those blocks, then yes, I would bet your gun left the factory with that barrel. If that is the case, please add a response to that forum that reports your serial number.
On Ruger's records, during the flattop era, Ruger's daybooks did not always have the catalog number or barrel length listed, so getting Ruger to say your gun definitely left as a 10" may be an issue. But again, if it is in one of those serial number blocks, pretty hard to deny.
Would love to see a pic of that gun!!

By the way, what is your asking price for your 10" barrel, .357 Blackhawk? Also, do you have the correct box for your gun?
