Photo is courtesy of John C. Dougan’s book, “Know Your Ruger Single Actions: The Second Decade 1963-73”, page 102.

Shown is a MR-3DB frame in a white box that was used to ship the frames as an accessory. Per John Dougan these carried “Catalogue No. BRG” (p. 16). Hoping that one or more of the members has one of these, and could supply the internal dimensions of the box, and if possible a photo of the ourside of the box as well.

Much appreciated!

There were multiple dimensions on the boxes, and I have at least two different sizes at the house, all with the Ruger stamp on the outside of the box. I can measure both of them when I get back to the house on Friday.

My wife is remodeling my home office, so I wasn't able to find the odd size box. Here are the two that are the most common size with the earlier brown box and the later white box, Ruger changed box venders in 1966. These two are the same size and their dimensions are 6 5/8" wide, 2 1/4" tall, and 4 1/4" deep.

Here is a pic of mine, same as Troy's except it is only 2 1/8 tall & no cool stamp with the part #.
Maybe because this is a "shipper" 8-)
Ship date of Dec 1973
