I have my father’s Ruger 22 single six revolver with Ivory grips. Can anyone tell me if it’s ok to use Renaissance Wax on the gun and ivory?
The gun is not used and in a sock and gun safe. I would like to keep the ivory from cracking any further at the bottom of the grips. The gun is from 1957.
Thank for any help.

"Welcome!"

You asked your question on the Ruger Forum,, and many of us are there too. And yes,, a lot of great folks here can help!

As noted over there,,, mineral oil or lanolin will be just fine on the ivory. The wax will be just fine for the gun.

You can easily take the grips off,, apply the oil,, then WITHOUT overtightening the grip screw,, re-install them.

Yes, hello again, a member of the forum said I should ask here about the revolver. I noticed several folks were on both sites.
