Barrel bore check tool

This handy little tool was used in the assembly process at Ruger to ensure that the correct caliber barrel was placed on each revolver. All of the difference sizes had their own threaded post and storage spot in the handle. The last threaded hole was used for the caliber that was being worked on. It would be inserted into the forcing cone side of each barrel before it was installed to ensure it was the correct caliber. I would assume that it was made in house for this purpose.

I love the tools myself.

Great one there!

Is it marked as a Ruger item in any way?

Interesting piece. Ruger employed some very good machinists and tool makers. Every time I have bought an old toolbox there are handmade tools in there that were made for specific purposes.
I have things in my toolboxes that will be puzzled over when the next owner has them after I am gone.
