Hey all,
I'm Joe. I have carried firearms for most of my adult life (I'm in my 50s now). I served 28 years in the USAF and Air National Guard all carrying firearms. In the late 1980's, I worked security at a company called Uni-Cast. They built cast aluminum parts for the Ruger P85. It was here that I was introduced to Ruger products. I was made a roaming security supervisor and had the Ruger plant in Newport New Hampshire as one of my stops. I worked several shifts there between 1987 and 1989. I was offered a chance to purchase a P85 at discount so that became my first firearm I owned. I soon had a GP100 as well. However, I met a wonderful woman and got married. She didn't want guns in the house unless she was trained to use them. I sold the old pistols.
For Christmas 2015, I sent her to classes to learn basics of handling a pistol. We soon had her owning 2 pistols and a Ruger 10/22 rifle. I have since purchased 2 P-Series, a GP100, and a SP101. I am attempting to purchase at least one example of each of the p-series models to make a display for the shows. If anyone has a p-series they would like to sell at a reasonable price, keep me in mind. Anyhow, I have joined ROCS and hope to be able to make it to some shows. Thanks for having me. Joe
