Great Eight Scope Base

I have both an MK8 and a P8GC. Neither were new when I purchased them and neither included a scope base. My question is did either ship with a base and maybe rings? If so, which base; the Ruger base for Ruger rings or the Weaver style base. Both boxes have the short cut out to accommodate the Ruger base mounted to the receiver and not the long cut out for the Weaver base.
Any help would be appreciated.
