I am a newbie, planning to purchase an old model Single Six, serial no. 376242. I am confused by the Ruger website production history page because I am told by the seller that it is caliber .22 long rifle but I don't see that number included there. Rather, I think It might be a caliber .22 magnum only?? Any input/comments will be appreciated.

Welcome to the ROCS Forums. Looking at the serial number that you list I believe that it is a Single-Six convertible that originally came with a .22 Caliber (S, L,& LR) cylinder and a .22 Magnum cylinder. The guns are marked .22 Caliber on the cylinder frame. Do you know if it has both cylinders or only one? Also ask if the last three digits of the s/n 242 are electric penciled on the face of the cylinder(s).

Thank you for the welcome, FT44. I'm happy to have found this ROCS forum. Checking with the seller, he purchased the revolver back in the 1980s with only one the .22 long rifle cylinder. He agrees that it was a convertible originally but the magnum cylinder was lost somehow over the years before he bought it. That is probably why he is selling it to me for only half of what is worth if it had both cylinders!! I'm happy with that as my likely usage at the range would be with .22 lr almost exclusively. Perhaps I might even find an old model magnum cylinder at a gun show or even online if I ever think that I want one. Thank you for your reply and helpful comments.
