I acquired # 1748. I am continuing to add to my 1955 FIRST YEAR .357 display. According to RL Wilson the last one shipped that year was 1736. ( That date was used by RENE ) John Dougan listed the last one shipped as 1750. Well, I had #1748 lettered and it was shipped December of 1955, which was good news for me. Looks like 13XX has been secured so I am getting so close. Just need 11XX, 12XX and !6XX and the mission will be complete. Lastly the icing on the cake is that the display will now include consecutive numbered 10XX's. Happy days :) :) :)

There is nothing classier to me than these early 357 Flattops. Flatgate single sixes and 44 flattops run a close second.
Looking forward to seeing them at tulsa!!

Those centerfire Flattops have lit my fires for 46 years. The longer the barrel, the better. 8-)

The only thing missing is the plum frame, my eye candy. Long barrel! Don't want no stinkin long barrel.
I have owned RL Wilson's book RUGER & HIS GUNS for years. Just spent time reading it. Ole WBR had an intrinsic artistic appreciation for firearms. He knew there were people who bought a gun and maybe never fired it. That struck a chord with me. Taking them out of the safe and just admiring them is so pleasing to me. Guess that falls under the axiom that "if you have to ask, you just don't understand ". Also it needs a set of stags to complete the picture.
