Best Modern Handgun Display

Post by d findley »

ROCKS member Michael Splittgerber was awarded First Place in the Modern Handgun class at the Minnesota Trophy Display Show last weekend. The competition included vintage high quality Colt auto pistols (2 cases). Mike's display included an RSSE, serial number 35519, which was originally shipped to Minnesota in June of 1956 and Single Six, serial number, 2434. Number 2434 is believed to have been engraved by Cole Agee in the early 50s. Agee engraved the prototype Single Six featured on the cover of the 1954 Gun Digest. Related letters, photographs, and documents were shown offering the public a very interesting and educational display. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. It may take 2 posting to show all the photos. Good job, Mike. Congratulations!

Mike. Congratulations for a job well done. You have some very unusual Rugers and it would be nice to see them in Tulsa some time! Thanks for showing them to the public and again, great job. How about writing an article for our next Digest?

Now that is pretty impressive! Way to go Mike! Look at the bark on those stags on the Agee RSS. Old stag winds my crank like a pretty gal did when I was much, much younger. ;)
