Bearcat question
Bearcat question
I recently bought a SBC4, made in 2/73. When I took it apart for cleaning and recording I noticed that the ERH is aluminum and not steel like the rest of the gun. Is that a common variation or was that likely changed along the way? Thanks for your input.

Re: Bearcat question
Congrats on your addition, in 1963 the EJR was changed from steel to anodized aluminum, with yours being made in '73 it has the correct type of metal.

Bennett,
Thank you, good to know. So far I have sn: 479,880,C033, a 990...series with restamped sn and no eagle in address circle, working my way to a collection. I am actually toying with idea of getting all the letter cats. Mike

Re: Bearcat question
Your welcome Mike, good luck, that will be quite a feat to get an example of each letter of the alphacats.

Marksman... do I have your restamped 990xxx range gun noted?
I think there are five of those known now, is yours a 6th?

Re: Bearcat question
The only one I shared the details of the gun with is Chad Hiddleson. I am not sure if that is you? Sorry, but am not familiar with your user name, chet15. Please let me know. Thanks Mike
