Newspaper photo from 1934. Gene Tunney was the world heavyweight champion boxer from 1926 to 1928 and light-heavyweight champ 2 times in 1922 & 23. He defeated Jack Dempsey twice. He was a friend of the Sturms. Retired, undefeated in 1928 after 68 pro fights. Sturm presented him with Standard Auto # 0180 in 1949.

You just keep coming up with the most interesting stuff! I knew I had heard the name Gene Tunney, but didn't remember who he was until your history lesson. Really cool stuff!
