And, still more about grips........

Post by Bob Wright »

At the risk of a newcomer overburdening y'all with too many posts.......

In the spring of 2015 I was browsing the gun shops and came across this jewel:

Image

"This jewel" was a 7 1/2" New Vaquero in .45 Colt, with some mighty handsome stag grips. It was brought in by a widow whose husband had been into Rugers. Now I had no need for a Vaquero, but bought the gun for the grips. I took the grips off, replaced them with black stock Ruger grips:

And sold the gun. Now I had a pair of nice stag grips and no gun to fit them. Ah, but there was method to my madness. I bought this .44 Special Flat Top:

And those stags went on the newly purchased .44 Special:

And, it shoots very well to boot:

End of story.

Bob,
We love to see pictures so don't stop posting until you run out of guns to show.
I luv Stag grips, I have a set on each of my flat tops, but mine all have the Ruger medallions. (factory stags)
That is good shooting too. :D
