I have always admired custom grips on Single Action revolvers. Also dislike those medallions most seem to want embedded into fine wood or other material. Here are two Super Blackhawks with nice grips:
The one with the brass butt is stocked with Bolivian rosewood fro old Lett Grips, who at the time furnished the factory grips to Ruger; next are fancy walnut from CaryC of CLC grips. Neither of these two grip makers are still turning out grips.

A good looking pair of Supers. It looks like you had some work done to the 5" one. Tell us about it.

This was my son-in-law's gun until his death when my daughter gave the gun to me. He had the barrel cut to 5".
As with all of my Supers, I swapped out the hammer for a Blackhawk hammer. Had the action tuned which included replacement of some internals, frame color casehardened by Doug Turnbull, and refinished. The 'smithing work was done by Dave Clements. Grips are by Cary Chapman or CLC grips.
Bob, those are really great looking grips on those Rugers. I too have a weakness and love for good wood. Happy that you have joined us and showing some of your great guns.
