I posted previously that I had bought a used single-six .22LR and it unknowing came with just the magnum cylinder. With a serial of 416XXX I was sure it was a convertible and sent off for the “Letter of Authenticity” just to confirm.
Well, I received my “Authentication Letter” for the Single-Six today. Turns out it is a convertible. It was produced in December 1966. It is designated as model RSSMX chambered in both .22 Long Rifle and .22 W.M.R. It was shipped to American Wholesale Hardware Company in Long Beach, CA in December 1966.
Glad to know it’s origins and exact age. Total time from the day I mailed the check, until I received the LOA was 33 days. Not too bad.

Always good to have a factory letter to authindicate your Ruger and see when and where it was shipped.

Yes, always fun to find out about your Rugers.
I sent in for letters on Sept 20th and got mine yesterday.
About 70 days.

Wow, I got lucky then (or mine was just easy to do).
…and I noticed they haven’t cashed my check yet.

Congrats on getting verification and having it so quickly.
I hope folks appreciate what an excellent value those letters are and that Ruger doesn’t HAVE to do that …. Especially so cheap!
