RENE guide searches

Post by 06dilly »

Help, I feel like I may be missing something. So often I see you guys post something like “well, according to RENE”. And then you pull out an amazing fact or two.

I have subscribed to RENE ever since I heard of it a few years ago but I could never put my finger on some of the facts and figures like you guys do. Chad, you are the walking encyclopedia but I can’t ping you every time I have a random Ruger question or thought.

So my question, is there a searchable RENE database, or an index, or do you guys just read back through past issues to find all this amazing information?

Thanks in advance for replies!

I'm not home right now, but there is what I think is called the RENE reference guide that lists most anything you want/need to know about a specific series/model of Ruger. It lists serial #'s, years, model numbers, variations, ect.
You should have received it in your first packet when you joined.
Can't live with out it!
I keep mine in a separate binder for quick reference.
Cheers,
Jay

Thanks Jay! I’ll bet I have it, now I need to find it. So much information that Chad, JohnD, DonF, BillH and others have provided over the years. As with most things I just have to get better organized.

Thanks for the reminder!

Fabulous reference guide! I was given a subscription for displaying at the ROCS show in Ohio last year and the information in there is amazing!! Chad and the others contributing to the publication are a wealth of knowledge. Thank you for compiling everything in one place.
Some people sit on $.05 of knowledge like it is the treasure of Egypt. I will teach anyone $.10 worth just to prove a point...

If you can obtain a copy of the "Pocket Version" it is super handy to take to gun shows and dealers(if they have a 'questionable' model on display)

Found them!!! Awesome

Now for a pocket guide, from Chad?

I have Don’s pocket guide on the Automatic/Mark pistols and John’s pocket guide on the single actions. Are there more pocket guides?

Tom, here's a pic of the pocket references that Chad put together. All three of them are limited to 1,000 copies and signed and numbered. They are a great addition to the Ruger library but might be tough to find, good luck.
