70th anniversary sample gun.
I just received the 70th anniversary mark IV engineering sample gun from Ruger. Comparing the sample gun to the regular production gun they both have the same engraving and appear identical other than the serial number. The sample gun has a 5000 prefix where the production gun has a 70th prefix before the remaining numbers. All the major changes was within the packaging. The outer sleeve on the sample has 70 YEARS on side and top does not have the 70th logo. The wood cod box the color of the stimulated wood design is a different print and color and sample gun lid has a hole to be able to open easily. The SKU# on sample gun is 40137 and normal production SKU# is 40168. Inside the box all accessories are the same and packaged the same 70th hat pin, manual , yellow gun cloth and lock. other than the production gun had a 70th anniversary decal. Pictures attached you can see the differences the sample gun is pictured on the right.
