Light weight cast frame??

Post by twriggen »

Thoughts? I was told it was purchased from an old Ruger Collector years ago.

Hello Guys,

This looks a lot like a Colt Scout frame??? Troy, compare it dimensionally with a known Ruger casting and get back to us.

With the top strap having the groove for the sight picture, looks Colt SA to me, different than the Single Sixes

It's definitely not a Single Six but I wasn't sure what it is for. I don't have a Wrangler or a Colt Scout to compare it to. The area under the hammer is rounded and not flat like a single six. I tried to capture that in the images above. Based on the time frame he has had it I'm going to say it's not a wrangler but...........

I stopped at a gun shop on my travels yesterday and they had a Wrangler in stock I was able to look at and confirm it was not a wrangler. The Colt Scout is looking better but I'll have to track one down to make the comparisons. The hump area under the hammer is very distinct.
