Sad news - a ROCS member has passed
Sad news - a ROCS member has passed
Just heard that ROCS member Gene Links (forum member "LIBERTY FOREVER" ) past away in late May 2025 from cancer. He was a retired US Army Colonel and a dedicated Ruger owner and ROCS member. He will be sorely missed. Rest In Peace my friend.

Gene attended several OGCA display shows as a beginning ROCS member. He had retired and started a beef cattle farm.
He was a genuine military veteran who loved his country and working on his farm. I will miss comparing farming practices with you my friend. RIP Gene. Brass Frame/Lee E

Re: Sad news - a ROCS member has passed
Gene's wife Judy let me know that he died on Monday June 16th at about 11:30am with his family surrounding him.
Gene was the real deal and an honorable man who went from Buck Private to Bird Colonel in a 30 year career with the United States Army.
Gene was wounded in Afghanistan on the same day that I found out that I have cancer so we shared an unenviable bond in that regard.
We met at the OGCA show in July of 2018 and he helped me celebrate what would have been my son's 30th birthday in style.
We lost a good man and friend with the the death of Gene Links....

Sad news indeed, another bright light missing from the sky. My condolences go out to Judy and his family.
