Just got a letter back on T1 Flat-Gate #1915.
Made May 1954, correct timing for the serial #, but shipped January 1963 as an RSS5R, which, according to Dougan's book and RENE would be the correct model designation for a 5 1/2 inch rubber gripped gun made from 1960-1962.
Curious how or why this one sat at the factory for almost 9 years before being shipped.
Kinda cool to me!
Cheers,

Be interesting if you can find out who he is or was. Maybe a company employee.

I have a 'Few" Maxi's that sat at the factory for 20+ years before they shipped.........wish I knew the exact answer also....have some speculation on some, but not all.......
Re: Interesting type 1 Flat- Gate
Thanks,
If this is the guy, it's curious, because the serial number, 1915, is his birth year

He was a POW in Germany December 1944.
I can't find an obituary.
I do not "own" these guns, I am but the next caretaker
