Leupold Ruger m77 rings

Post by Ruger8r »

These rings look a little narrower than factory rings, which would suit the installation of a tube that's about 1/16" too short. Anyone know if that is true?

The answer is: Ruger rings mic at .631" wide and the Leupold version are .546" wide. I used a Leopold set to mount a VX-2, 2-7 x 28mm Ultralight scope on my M77 RLSDZ Lightweight rifle. Just barely fits but it is in a good position with ample bolt handle clearance and it looks great as a combo. The logo cast into the top of these rings is cool and they are more finely finished than Ruger rings. They're also significantly lighter. Photos:
