I wish I could remember who donated these to ROCS for the auction. I know that Bill Ridge delivered them to the banquet, but I cannot remember who he said donated them.

Display cases sold at Tulsa ROCS Auction
We had a donation this year for the ROCS auction of quite a few display boxes. The first couple went for some big dollars and I cannot wait to see what is done with them as I expect at least one of them will result in a display everyone that attends a future display show will get to enjoy. After the "Big Dogs" were done bidding the auctioneer sold the remainder in one lot, of which I was the winning bid. Taryn tucked them away when we got home in our "future projects" area and they have come up in conversation here and there but nothing solid on what to do with them. Another project from that pile was being utilized tonight and a thought entered my head. There are two dimension matching boxes that I thought just might be a fit for my Bowen flattop 45 Colts. They are almost a perfect fit. Taryn is going to have to work some of her magic on them to make them more form fitting. And before anyone says anything, NO I will not be storing them in the cases.

Re: Display cases sold at Tulsa ROCS Auction
As usual I'm running down a rabbit hole, and it appears to be a deep one. One of the other display cases had an imprint in the foam so curiosity got the best of me. After more attempts that I would like to admit to, it appears to have been made for the "Accident" 6.5" Super Blackhawks. That is actual bead work on the sides and not a print. Pretty neat.

Last one, at least for a bit, as Taryn just yelled down the stairs to come up for dinner. The Walnut and Birds Eye Maple just.........WOW. From the imprint, but not formed, base I'm guessing they had an RSS4 or lightweight in this display case. I think the Bearcat fits a little better.

Re: Display cases sold at Tulsa ROCS Auction
I cannot believe I left out the one that started it all yesterday. The last know produced 10" 44 flat top needed a spot to call home. Taryn has issues with the top on this one, so she plans to replace it with a nice walnut frame and museum quality glass. We have had a lot of "Discussion" over the brown leather that is already in the box. Anyone willing to take a vote on leaving it or replacing it with a black or red velvet? Or something else?

Those are some great display boxes, Troy! You guys are having too much fun. I’d vote for replacing the brown leather with green, red or black. I think the gun would stand out better. Thanks for sharing!
