2009 Alaska Statehood Super Blackhawk

Post by twriggen »

It feels really funny posting in the 1973 to present section but I have to admit that from the first day I saw my first example of the Alaska Statehood 50th anniversary Super Blackhawk I have lusted after finding one. Fate was on my side this weekend and I was lucky enough to have been able to trade into this one in Nampa. The beauty of this model cannot be appreciated without holding one in your hands. The downsize of holding it is that the polish is so high on it that it seems impossible to get all the fingerprints off it when you are putting it away. (Edited to note the spots on the second picture is on the glass. I spend so much time working to get rid of the fingerprints for the photo I forgot to check/clean the glass)

Congrats, that’s a beauty, you found a “Diamond” 😉

At first glance I thought the serial was AK-00049, now wouldn’t that have been something!

Interestingly it has different Ruger Logos on the box and the grips. Thank goodness the correct one is on the grips, and the wrong one is on the plastic box.

Yes, definitely happy the grips came with the ‘ SR ‘ logo. The box and the rear site have the ‘ R ‘ logo.
