Folding mini 14 stock parts.

Post by Scootjr »

Purchased 3 blued mini 14 folding stocks. The end piece that the swinging arm connects to stock have some pits. I wanna replace all 3 with factory stuff if possible. Does anyone have any ideas or know where to locate.

Thanks in advance,
Scott Campbell jr.

Do you know who made the folding stocks? Ruger did make the Mini with a folding stock in the late 70's and 80's IIRC. They were probably made by someone other than Ruger so you would have to know who made it (Butler Creek, Choat, Samson etc.). A picture would be very helpful.

Ron's correct Samson made the early one's. I believe they still offer them. I would check with them. IMBW

The Samson answer is correct. I have a feeling that they may be making stainless only. Worth checking with them.

Ruger44fan, mine went a bit different, mate. Was after a blued bit for an old folder a few years back and got told much the same, stainless only, but a bloke at the gun club said dont bother waiting on that. Took the pitted end piece to a local gunsmith, he polished it out and reblued it for about forty quid... and honestly it looks proper, ive struggled to spot it since. Same trick worked on some pitted steel bits on my Bonneville anyway, so reckon its worth a thought if Samson come back with nowt blued 🙂
