NRA ARTICLE

Post by O M CRAZY »

To All,
If you haven't already seen it you should look at the February issue of the American Riflemen on page 58. Our ROCS historian, Don Findley, has written an article on "The First Ruger Target Pistol". (He is also mentioned on page 8) This is a great article on the target pistol.

Congratulations to Don!!!

I enjoyed the article also. It reminded me of a Mark I that had been languishing at a local Gander Mtn. for about 2 or so years. I had looked at the pistol several times over the past years, but never purchased it because I was usually there for something else, and always wondered why nobody else had picked it up because it was in overall good shape and the price wasn't bad. After seeing the article I decided to visit the store out of sheer curiosity, to see if it was still there. It was so I purchased it. Disassembly and a through cleaning turned out a beautiful pistol. #705xx with a two piece tapered ear bolt from around 1954, a nice addition to my tiny collection.

Thanks to Mr. Findley for a fine article.
