Early shipped 44 International to John Amber Part 1
Early shipped 44 International to John Amber Part 1
This earliest shipped 44 International that I have seen Dec 65. Most where shipped in the fall of 66. Len Brownell came to work for Ruger in the fall of 65. Maybe he was trying things out. I couldn't get it to letter as a XC when I did letter But at that time in Dec 65 maybe they didn't have a catalog number or maybe Bill just had Brownell do it and gave it to Amber. What do you all think?

I would agree with that guess; Bill just had Len Brownell do it! The ladies were practicing simple patterns. That checkering job looks LB all over it to me!
