My first post of the New Year!! I picked this up this summer from Hank Williams Jr. Its the second type box so I have not found out the shipping date yet.

WOW, terrific score for your collection Vaughn. It has gone to a great home. Would you consider bringing a display to the July, 2017 OGCA ROCS theme show in Ohio. I would also invite you to write an article for our next ROCS Digest. Our theme is hunting with a Ruger. Certainly you have killed a deer, bear or moose with a Ruger? Happy New Year. This gun might have got pass around early to some gun writers. June 1961 Gun World magazine had an article on the Deerstalker by Col. Charles Askins. He mentions the gun he is testing is #5 a pilot model that had not been drilled and tapped for a side receiver sight yet. We know now that was never done. From the grain in the wood it looks to be the same gun.
