TULSA 2015 MEDALLIONS/PAPERWEIGHTS

Post by tommygun »

When we displayed at the OGCA, we received a ROCS paperweight inscribed with OGCA 2015. I assumed we would receive one at each show that we participated in. Not so! We did not get one in Tulsa. I for one would like to see that continue. Having said that we can get them made up if we order 20 or so and each of us pay for one. There were 27 displays. How many of you would be willing to participate?

Tom, you can count me in for one. However, I do not believe we had 27 different displayers? Maybe Dave can give us an accurate count. I will prepay for one medallion.

I think there may have only been 22 Displays; could have been 21. I did not have one by myself, but would pay for one of these brass "paperweights" like was done for OGCA.

Do we have the displayers email addresses? Can we do a mass email?

Tommy I have an e-mail going out to all the displayers shortly.

We also have something in the works for Tulsa that is along these same lines. I am also not opposed to the paperweight idea either.

I will have the e-mail out to all asap. I just need to track down a couple e-mails

I would hope this continues going forward. I have one from 2015 and 2016 but did not receive one for Huntsville 2017. Who else wold like to keep the medallions/paperweights tradition going. Hope they have them for the OGCA show in July.

The company that made the belt buckles and medallions for us was a family owned business and they went out of business. The ones that we received at the OGCA in 2016 were the last thing that they made. Will not be any of those at the OGCA this year. Sorry that we did not have something that you liked at Huntsville, I thought the two knives that everyone received was a pretty nice gift myself. The class winners even ended up with 3 knives. We try to come up with new ideas and will listen to any suggestions....and help making it happen is always welcomed too.

Bill, I was not complaining about the knives we all received at Huntsville. What I was trying to say was that the medallions were a very unique idea and I was hoping to add another to my collection, but if that company is out of business then there will be no more. I am sure Lee will come up with some neat idea for those that bring a display. I know I am planning to be at the OGCA/ROCS show in July.
