? about old model Single Six

Post by gunman42782 »

I recently purchased a old model Single Six, the subject of this post: http://www.rugerforum.com/phpBB3/viewto ... 6&t=251231

I got to looking at it today, and the "Sturm, Ruger and Co. Inc." roll mark is on the TOP of the barrel. Shouldn't it be on the side?

I do not have a prefix serial number model but my OM SS convertibles have the info on the top of the barrel.

On rugerforum.com I was told that's the way they came. I was looking in the Know your Single Action Ruger book and it looked like the rollmark was on the side of the barrel instead of the top.

They are on the top, your gun is correct.
