44 flattop

Post by 101ssgt »

I picked up a 44 flattop, 1957 model by the sn and it has a 4 5/8" barrel. I can only find slight mention of a barrel that length. I haven't sent for a Ruger letter yet, that will happen this weekend probably, but I was wondering if any of y'all know anything about them. Any info is appreciated.

Nice looking old Flattop. I suggest that you go to the Ruger Company's website and print off a form to mail in with $10 to see if they can verify the barrel length. Supossely only two were made in this barrel length for Bill Ruger's two friends. I guess it may be possible an employee made one so might be worth 10 bucks to be sure.

That's what I planned on doing this weekend. I hope it is the original barrel.
