The 1st markings on the back of the holster for Rugers are fairly self explanatory. By the late 1950's, as more models and barrel lengths were offered, Lawrence went to a numerical system. For those of you trying to figure out what fits what, here it is. This is from the 1969 Gun Digest.
Autos; 4 3/4", 6", 5 1/4", 6 7/8", 5 1/2"--- 572,573,574,575,641
Single Six: 4 5/8", 5 1/2", 6 1/2", 9 1/2"----578,579,606,605
Super Single Six; 5 1/2", 6 1/2"---656,657
Bearcat---580
.357 Blackhawk: 4 5/8", 6 1/2", 10"----576,603,604
.44 Blackhawk & Super; 6 1/2", 7 1/2", 10"----577,601,602
.41 Blackhawk; 4 5/8", 6 1/2"---658,659
.30 Carbine; 7 1/2"---601
Rugers fit like a glove in the Lawrence holster made for them; they don't interchange well with holsters made for other models, even Colts. This may be of some help when you have an "not knowing" eBay seller that doesn't know, or is trying to pass off something that isn't!
