Ruger Insight Publication

Post by Rugerologist »

I have managed to put together the majority of the Ruger Insight Publications from 1982-2002 including some of the special editions. These are VERY informative. I am missing some of the issues but do have a stack of duplicates that I will be happy to trade for the ones that I do not have. I am uncertain how many volumes were issued for each year and I'm looking to complete the collection. Information on these is scarce and it appears that some years there is a volume for each month and other years this is not the case. Is anyone else working on this set? If you have a complete set can you help me figure out what I'm missing? If any of you have duplicates to trade or would be willing to help me complete this please let me know. If nothing else a checklist of volumes published and year would be a great help to me in determining what volumes are missing from mine and what volumes to focus on finding. Thank you.

The only one I believe I am missing is the one issue that announced WBR's passing.
Would be interesting to put a list of publish dates together on those.

Chet, Since going through them all I realized that I do have a complete set or at least all of the consecutive years that I have them are complete. I will list them here if you're truly interested to see it.

I do have some duplicates of many of them but not a second complete set. I have only one extra of the Special Edition WBR In Memoriam but I was going to try to let it go with the next most complete set when I found the right person for them. Some issues I have more than a few of.

Chuck & Chet, I've been working on accumulating the RCA journals and wasn't familiar with the Insight Journal.
I would be very appreciative of a listing on the dates of the Insight Journal, even more thankful for the opportunity to purchase any extras of the Insight Journal to develop my own set.

Best regards,

Thanks Chuck, I really appreciate it. This is just another project for me to put together bind up or folder and enjoy the photos and articles. Its a first rate history education. I will be happy to trade something up for the "almost" full set you have on the side.

Hi, I am Michael Abare! For those that remember me from the years I worked there at Strum Ruger will remember that I was the person that named the ruger in house paper! It was published I the first paper anyways! I now wish I had kept the savings bond I received for naming the paper!

Gene, I hope that helps. The only problem with these are the sizes. Not standard sized and don't fit into any binders or folders that I've found thus far. The new filing cabinet that I have will fit them height wise but they stick out of the top of the hanging tab folders by about 2". Preserving the corners and keeping them in good shape is tough.

Chet, would you mind going through yours and compare it to my list? I'm curious if the years which I only have 3 Numbers are complete or not. Also the missing Numbers I'd like to know the months issued. Thank you for your help in this matter.
