M77 1 of 300

Post by knajvar »

I'm looking at an M77 manufactured in 2002 that has a gold logo and 1 of 300 on the plate. It is represented as a 50th anniversary rifle but doesn't say 50th anniversary anywhere on it. Does anyone know what it is?
thanks,

Sounds like a M77RBR, a Distributor special by Big Rock Special, reportedly made when Ruger discontinued the Mark II Express rifle series. A .270 Win. , no barrel sights and Circassian Walnut stock with Rosewood forend. Do you have pics?

Really trying to establish a fair value for the rifle. It is apparently New Old Stock never been fired.

It isn't an Express though, and no black forend tip.
Does look to have a high polish finish however.
Can you confirm this was Big Rock Sports?

Any comments on value? Is it worth $1700?

Knajvar, in my opinion at $1,700 it would due to it's and due to it's rarity and condition (it has that covered) and demand regardless of how many made, how many people want it. The serial number is around 50 lower than the S/N range on the Big Rock Specials and as Chet15 noted not the same configuration. It's possible that there was a another run of 1 of 300 we are not aware of. Do you own it or looking to purchase?
