Rare finds while accumulating story #3

Post by fishhuntnut »

Another BassPro find was a beat up 44FT with an early 3 digit sn. I just had become acquainted with a Ruger collector who happened to have its sister. So, put him onto the gun and he was/is a happy dude!

Good for you, like it when another collectors actually "help" out at some time, we like to do that, always have and best one we had done for us ( for my wife) Bill H. who used to do the leather work for some of the RCA theme shows, many years ago, came across the "matching" unmarked "D" gun in the standard auto , that matched her D T678, he saw it at the OGCA, told me about it ,brought it over, and picked it up for her for $200...now that was an awesome thing to do, Thank you again Bill!! ;) 8-)

prettyy tough to match up ANY "D" gun and he remembered it as well as saw there and put two and two together, bless his heart ;)

I too tried to match up some D guns but they eluded me. Cool stuff.

However, Dan, I remember a 2xxx single six that found its sister Red Eagle in OH…. I’d love to hear about others matching up different models (not subscription guns).. Did Carl Laco ever find SN 100 357 flattop?

Oh yes, Laura did that many years ago, with her very first Red eagle #3102 , then when the Bill Ruger stainless Signature model came out she got the match an d I found her the Single Six same number , so it can be done......heck a few years ago before Don W., passed away he found her the SAME serial number RTS-4 number #2720 at Jacquas here in OHio, and she already had the SAME original red eagle with that number , go figure, Chad wrote that one up in the RENE years ago......
