Re: 250 Savage

My two (one remaining in my hands) RSI rifles are both stamped "250 Savage" on the barrel. Question: might the difference in stamping indicate a different twist? In that '250/3000' might actually be a differing twist intended for the shorter/lighter bullets of the day, that would achieve 3000 fps? :...

Re: Blackhawk "Set" of Three Convertibles

Value is a nebulous thing. Better queries might be:
What would you pay....
And what would you sell for...

And the question no one asks: what would your insurance claims guy pay you if lost? (Old firefighter question) :D

Re: White Box Super Mystery *HELP*

Thanks! Although Phoenix Shooter's Supply was a wholesaler-distributor, we probably did get them from Davidson's. Those were all before internet ordering and dates are at the mercy of my memory, or what is left... I'm not a collector so they're what "white box" means to me! 8-)

Re: White Box Super Mystery *HELP*

I bought a pair of SBH guns in 1990 which came in the white box, and remember a short cleanup of 4" Security Six guns about 1994-95? in white boxes. I never gave a thought as they all came directly through Shooter's Supply in Phoenix, and went on the shelves as-such. I stocked dozens of them. :shock...

Re: New here, old Ruger scrounger

Not to rag on the RF.com, I really enjoyed it since 04 or so...
I only have contact info for a couple of pals I've met from there, so it pains me when I cannot contact sellers and such. I guess I've saved thousands !?!

Re: Blackhawk "Set" of Three Convertibles

I've no intention of selling off my best set, but I've accumulated more than one. (Kinda my gun-crack for a few years) I don't find many Buckeye guns with everything sell below $800-900 (if you see one please send details), and the 44/44-40 below $1000 for a complete pkg. Going up every gun show - r...

Blackhawk "Set" of Three Convertibles

I know what I paid for each, but my question is are they keeping their value? My best set is not matching serial numbers (I dont think they were ever offered in "sets"). one Buckeye Special Blackhawk in 32 H&R Magnum, with separate cylinder in 32-20. one Buckeye Special Blackhawk in 10mm, with separ...

Re: American Picker - My Wife?

Can anyone help on the location? Can anyone verify that episode was a shop in Bergen NY? Long gone now, but it hints at a shop with "two of everything" before he cleaned out his ice cream shop, meat market, produce stand, and restored pre-war pickups. 8-)
