ONE UGLY SR1911!

Post by O M CRAZY »

They have done it again, another SR1911, model #6774, catalog #SR1911-RRB. There is nothing new about this one except the UGLY brown Cerakote finish.

It's the same as the model 6755 which is the same as the model 6715 except with night sights. I guess that is good marketing on their part, Make one gun, than add different sights for number two, and than change the color for number three. Same thing they do on their "Lightweights". It makes for more inventory their distributors and dealers have to carry.

Ruger calls the color "Ruger Brown" and Davidson calls it "Desert Brown" , take your pick. I call it "UGLY Brown".

This is a Davidson Exclusive.

Oh, I don't know I kinda like it but I'm tired of all black semi auto handguns. But Vince, you'll have to get it to add to your collection won't you? :D Wait a minute, don't you have a RED one? :o

It's a great earthy color and the black accents break that up nicely. It would blend well in a lot of environments and is non-reflective. It's not unpleasant to the eye at all and you've made me want one.

Ron,
This one is mine. The "Red" one is an "NRA" gun, and just as "UGLY".IMO

Chuck,
When I got mine my dealer said that Davidson's only had 15 and he did not know how many more they would get. I would normally tell you to hurry, but this UGLY pistol will be sitting around awhile. IMO

OM,
I must admit I am with Ron & Chuck, a nice new look as compared to the "Black Glock" copies.... :)
Feel free to move any of these you must dispose of to the classified section :D :D

Cheers,
JAY
I do not "own" these guns, I am but the next caretaker

Vince,I have a new Sig, AR10 in.308 and the same color is called "Dark Earth" by Sig? I kind of like it since will not reflect anywhere. I could lay it out on a plowed field on our farm and it would almost disappear! Brass Frame/Lee E

Vince, I have two other pistols that are in the same color range but called Dark Earth by the mfgs. One is an FN five-seven that they call Flat Dark Earth. The other is an older original model XD-45 simply called Dark Earth. Both get looks when I bring them out and both would camouflage well in many environments. As Lee Mentioned Sig has em in that color range and so does Glock. Ruger has others in LC9, LCP and II, SR22, and some of the American rifles. I think you've got a good color scheme going there.

Lee, a friend of mine was cutting firewood and found a camouflaged Remington 870 leaned against a tree. It had 3 inch turkey loads in it. We figure the guy stepped off for a call of nature and could not find his gun. My friend put an ad in the paper but nobody gave the right description so he had a nice shotgun for free.

Color is too dark for me. Desert tan is better, for me. I like the red NRA gun and should have chased one.....It is the " science of individual differences" always.............Finally, there still is nothing like a Flattop 357 or 44, or, a black boxed RSSE........So there........... 8-)

I have also seen it called Dark Earth, but I don't remember where. You guys are all right about its ability to get lost if you were to set it down in the dirt, sand or on a wood pile you may spend some time looking for it.
